The Jackson Holmes Salmon Run on 11 October 2025 is an annual multi-sport event staged around the splendour of the Rakaia River in Canterbury.

The event has something for everyone, competitive and non-competitive, individuals or teams - including a Half Marathon Trail Run, Duathlons (bike + run) and the Salmon Run Multisport event (bike, run, kayak, run), great training in the lead up to the Coast to Coast.

2025 sees new courses and distance updates, plus a dedicated Junior Duathlon for those aged 10 - 17 years.

With impressive spot prizes and country hospitality, join in and have some fun while supporting this Rakaia Lions fundraiser.

Distances/Events

Trail Run:
21K Half Marathon

Multisport - Solo/Teams:
45.5K Bike + 1.7K Run + 18K Paddle + 12.5K Run

Duathlon - Solo/Teams:
Junior (10 - 17 yrs): 5K Bike + 2.5K Trail Run
Give it a Tri: 5K Bike + 2.5K Trail Run
Long: 38.5K Bike + 14.8K Trail Run
