Run Mt Hutt
Saturday, 14 March 2026
Awa Awa Reserve, Pudding Hill, Canterbury
Run Mt Hutt on 14 March 2026 is on one of New Zealand's most scenic and challenging courses, with breathtaking views and varied terrain.
The 25km Full Ascent (12.5km ascent / 12.5km descent) starts from Awa Awa Rata Reserve on a route that ascends through lush native bush for the first 4.5km, transitions to rugged alpine terrain, and continues along the Mt Hutt road to the ski field car park with panoramic views before the descent back to the reserve. The difficulty level is advanced and suitable for seasoned runners looking for a challenge with significant elevation gain and technical terrain.
For those looking for a shorter, but still challenging run, the 12km Challenge (6km ascent / 6km descent) will take you halfway up the Mt Hutt road before returning to the reserve. The difficulty level is intermediate and suitable for runners looking to test themselves without the full ascent.
