The Run Walk Play 5K on 2 March 2025 is part of a race series held fortnightly on Sunday mornings at Pohlen Park in Matamata.

The event includes a 5km distance plus a 2.5km dash for juniors (up to 10 years). The 5km is held on a 2 lap course taking in the park-like and semi-rural surroundings over Pohlen Park and Neil Algar Reserve.

The series is organised by Project Play, a working group of Matamata Futures Inc. Money raised will help to build a new playground at Matamata Domain.
