The Molesworth Run on Saturday, 17 November 2018 is an 84km off road run which ends at Hanmer Springs.

It can be run as a solo event or in relay teams of 2 or 4. The field is limited to 75 teams and 20 solo eventers, and there is a 10 hour time limit to complete the event. Solo runners must be proven ultra distance competitors.

The gravelled road climbs Ward Pass 1145m and descends into Isolated Flat - 250 hectares of grass and tussock lands, bounded by rolling mountains and massive scree slopes. Once at Red Gate the road loosely follows the Acheron River through to the historic Acheron Accommodation house and the confluence of the Acheron and Clarence rivers. From here, the course follows the Clarence to Jack's Pass, and finishes outside the famous Hanmer thermal spa.
