The Kaikōura Adventure Race from 10 to 11 April 2027 is a traditional adventure race with 12, 6 and 3 hour options on offer.

Teams of 2 to 4 members navigate their way around the course combining the multisport disciplines of hiking/trekking and mountain biking. The 12 Hour event includes a short water stage (Kayak).

Family teams include at least one adult (over 18) and any number of school aged students. Children 10 years & under need to be accompanied by a parent.

Located in the Kaikōura District, just 2 hours drive north from Christchurch and 2 hours south from Blenheim, the exact location and course will be kept secret until closer to the event.

This event also hosts the South Island Secondary Schools Adventure Racing Championship.
