Paraiti Catchment Care Group's Flight of the Kōkako Trail Run on 28 March 2026 is an adventurous off road run in the Te Ranga district of Te Puke.

With distances of 5km, 10km, 16km and 21km, there is something for everyone. The course traces the path of the Kōkako through native forest, creek beds and beautiful farmland not usually accessible to the public.

All profits will be dedicated to enhancing and expanding the trapping network, as well as planting native trees throughout the catchment, with the goal of establishing a corridor that connects the two kōkako populations of Kaharoa and Otanewainuku.

Participants in the race will each have a native tree planted in their honour.
