The Tarawera Ultramarathon on Saturday, 10 February 2018 is New Zealand's most prestigious ultramarathon and is part of the Ultra-Trail World Tour.

This annual trail run reverses direction in 2018, with the 87km & 102km races starting in Kawerau and finishing in Rotorua. The 62km starts at Tarawera Falls and finishes in Rotorua. The new 100 mile distance starts and finishes in Rotorua.

The spectacular course will also take runners through places of immense cultural significance to Maori people, the indigenous people of New Zealand. Around 1260 participants with more than 600 international athletes and many of the world’s best trail ultra runners, will run the race of their lives in February.
