The Tarawera Ultramarathon on Saturday, 10 February 2018 is New Zealand's most prestigious ultramarathon and is part of the Ultra-Trail World Tour.

This annual trail run reverses direction in 2018, with all races now starting in Kawerau and finishing in Rotorua. The 62km & 87km distances can be run solo or in a team relay, and there is a new 100 mile race in 2018.

The spectacular course will also take runners through places of immense cultural significance to Maori people, the indigenous people of New Zealand. Around 1260 participants with more than 600 international athletes and many of the world’s best trail ultra runners, will run the race of their lives from Kawerau to Rotorua in February.
