The Tarawera Ultramarathon on Saturday, 10 February 2018 is New Zealand's most prestigious ultramarathon and is part of the Ultra-Trail World Tour.
This annual trail run goes from Rotorua to Kawerau, with 62km, 87km and 102km events. The 62km & 87km distances can also be run solo or in a team relay. There will also be a 100 mile race in 2018; the details for this event are TBC.
The spectacular course will also take runners through places of immense cultural significance to Maori people, the indigenous people of New Zealand. Around 1260 participants with more than 600 international athletes and many of the world’s best trail ultra runners, will run the race of their lives from Rotorua to Kawerau in February.
