The Tarawera Ultramarathon on Saturday, 8 February 2020 is New Zealand's most prestigious ultramarathon and is part of the Ultra-Trail World Tour.

The spectacular course runs through places of cultural significance to local Māori people. Around 2500 participants with more than 800 international athletes will compete. Some of the world’s best elite trail ultra runners take part. This event is a great first-time challenge!

The 100 Miler and 102km courses are largely unchanged from the 2019 event, with the 100 Miler starting at Te Puia in what is sure to be a magical and spiritual experience for all. There will be a new 50km course and all events will finish at the newly redeveloped Rotorua lakefront.

The event base and finish for all events is at Rotorua's Lakefront Reserve, with buses departing for the 102km, 50km & 21km start from here. The 100 miler will start from Te Puia.
