The 40th annual Dunedin Marathon on Sunday, 9 September 2018 has a full marathon, half marathon, 10km fun run & recreational walk.

The 2018 event is the New Zealand Half Marathon Championships. To participate in the championships, you must be 16 years of age and over and registered with any athletics or harrier club affiliated to Athletics New Zealand.

Established in 1979, this is one of the most scenic Marathons in New Zealand. The Marathon starts close to the Albatross Colony on the Otago Peninsula and runs around the beautiful Otago Harbour before finishing at Watson Park, Port Chalmers.

The course is under review for 2018. The full marathon will start at the Albatross Colony (as in previous years) and finish at the Caledonian Ground. The half marathon and 10km fun run will go from Logan Park to the Caledonian Ground.
