Dog Creek Timber Trail Ultra
Friday, 4 April 2025 to Saturday, 5 April 2025
Hanmer Heritage Forest, Hanmer, Canterbury
Previously called the Old Forest Hanmer 100, the Dog Creek Timber Trail Ultra includes 100 mile, 100km, 50 mile, 50km & 21km races from 4 to 5 April 2025.
The course is single track with the perfect balance of technical and runnable trail. Elevation gain/loss approximately +/- 365m per lap. There are several foot bridges and staircases (around 52 steps in total) to climb.
The race format is a lap format on a 16km, figure 8 (roughly) lap. The Northern loop is around 10km & run clockwise, with The Southern loop of the lap of around 6km is run anticlockwise with the total lap start/finish in the middle, so effectively you will pass the aid station and finish area every half lap.
The course goes through some of the original old plantings of exotic forest species, and is almost entirely single track so it's perfect for first timers and old hands alike.
