Eastbourne & Petone, Wellington
2026 marks the 35th running of Wellington’s oldest multisport event, The Crazyman on 13 December 2026.
Based around the iconic outdoor elements of Wellington's Hutt City, this 54km scenic tour showcases the hills, beaches, harbour and river that make our Capital the outdoor wonderland that it is.
Attracting around 400 entrants every year, participants enter as individuals or teams in either the full Multisport format (Kayak / Mountain Bike / Trail Run) or as Duathletes (Mountain Bike / Trail Run).
The scenic sea kayak takes entrants from Days Bay in Eastbourne to the iconic Petone Wharf and Hutt River. The MTB is an epic ride up the Hutt River Trail and over Belmont Regional Park. The off-road run takes you around Belmont Trig and follows Korokoro Stream's beautiful bush tracks to finish by the iconic Petone Wharf.
"The Crazyman" is a community event embracing all ages, abilities and backgrounds.
