The Tararua Mountain Race on Saturday, 24 February 2018 is one of New Zealand's oldest mountain races in the Tararua Ranges.

The race transforms a three-day hard tramp into a one-day trail run of epic proportions. The event is defined by the weather conditions, with the Tararua Mountain Range a notoriously changeable environment, with high winds and low cloud being common for a ten km section of the race when above the bush line. Extreme care is required.

The Tararua Mountain Race is one of New Zealand's oldest mountain races, having first been raced in 1990. The Tararua Ranges are widenly renowned in New Zealand for tough mountain terrain and weather, so the race is not for the inexperienced or faint hearted!
