Nancy Jiang is taking the trail running world by storm
Nancy Jiang arrived in New Zealand aged 5 and was told by her traditional Chinese family "Chinese people don't run" when she saw kids running around barefoot in Te Atatu. Runners using a virtual marathon to qualify for New York
Strava organised a virtual marathon over the weekend (the same weekend as the New York Marathon) for 500 runners around the world. The runners had to pay but it will mean they automatically qualify for New York in 2019, a difficult race to get into. Find out more in this article at the NZ Herald.
Allison Roe inducted into New York running Hall of Fame
And ahead of the last weekend's New York Marathon, 1981 marathon winner Allison Roe was inducted into the New York running Hall of Fame, and her photo prominently displayed near the finish line. Find out more in this article at Stuff.

- Eighth Continent Marathon and Half Marathon in Auckland has moved from 8 to 20 January - note the Triple 7/8 event itself is not happening in 2019 but will return in 2020
- Round the Vines: changed next event date from 16 to 17 March as per update on event website
- Aoraki Mount Cook Classic Cycle Race: changed event date from 6 October 2019 to 4 October 2020 as per update on event website

I'm about to head off to Christchurch to work with Running Events on the Corporate Challenge, which is on tomorrow. Then we're off to Wellington next week, and finish up with the third and final event in Auckland the following week. And to top it all of we have the Rotorua Half Marathon at the end of that week!
