Sunday, 20 September 2026
Hagley Park, Christchurch
The Terry Fox Run is an annual 5km fun run/walk held to raise money for cancer research, with the Christchurch event on 20 September 2026.
The Christchurch course at Hagley Park is 2 laps of a 2.5km loop on a combination of pavement, grass, gravel.
It is suitable for participants of all ages and abilities and is an all-inclusive, non-competitive event – families, strollers, dogs are all welcome.
The run is named after Terry Fox, a young Canadian who set out to run across Canada after losing his right leg to cancer. Along the way he raised money for cancer research. In keeping with Terry Fox's wishes, there is no registration fee and no minimum fundraising requirements. One of the things that makes the event unique is that there is no corporate sponsorship.
