The Southland Summer Challenge on 13 December 2026 is a multisport festival in Gore.

This annual event caters for athletes of all abilities with triathlons, duathlon, multisport and an open water swim.

This event is a perfect buildup for anyone doing Challenge Wanaka, Lake Wanaka Half, Ironman NZ or Coast to Coast.

Triathlon (Swim + Bike + Run):
Junior Novice (U16): 200m + 9K + 2K
Junior (U16): 400m + 9K + 2K
Sprint: 750m + 20K + 5K - solo/relay
76.5 Challenge: 1500m + 60K + 14K - solo/relay

Duathlon (Run + Bike + Run):
200m + 20K + 5K - solo/relay

Coast to Coast build up:
14K kayak + 1K run + 40K bike + 10K run - solo/relay

And open water swim, aquabike, and kayak events
