The Rocky Point Run on 15 November 2025 is an annual trail running event in the Buller region, now with 4 distances to choose from.

Utilising sections of the stunning Kawatiri Coastal Trail, the Rocky Point Trail Run takes competitors on a scenic journey through to Carters Beach in Westport. Distances include a 35km and 22.5km run, a 12.5km run or walk and a 5km fun run.

The new 35km trail run starts at Constant Bay in Charleston and includes stunning native forest sections, three swing bridges, hefty climbs, fast downhills and coastal views. The 22.5km starts on Virgin Flat Road and connects with the Okari section of the Kawatiri Coastal Trail. The 12.5km starts at Tauranga Bay and follows the trail through the Omau and Kawau coastal sections of trail.

The 5km run/walk is a less taxing, fun event based on the Pūwaha Section of the trail (Westport to Carters Beach). It showcases lush farmland, beautiful wetlands and lush native forest.
