Picton to Havelock, Marlborough

Follow event Run/Walk Road/Path/Park Relay

The annual Queen Charlotte Relay in Marlborough on 19 September 2026 is a 5 person team relay starting in Picton and finishing in Havelock.

This relay is one of the oldest road relays held in New Zealand. The first relay was in 1982 and it has been competed annually with the exception of 2020 and 2021 (due to Covid-19 pandemic) and 2022, cancelled due to road safety concerns.

It was for runners only until 2002 when, due to popular demand, a walkers grade was introduced. The walkers are not refereed so it is social walking.

The race is limited to 80 teams in total, including walking teams.
