Two Mile Bay, Taupō
Pillar to Pou on 13 June 2026 is a endurance run/walk event set along the beautiful Taupō lakefront.
Participants will outrun (or walk) the clock and complete as many loops the 7.3km course as they can in the 6 hour time limit. The course stretches from the Two Mile Bay Sailing Club (the Pillar) to Te Ātea, home to magnificent carved pou (the Pou), before looping back. Runners follow Taupō’s Great Lake Pathway, with breathtaking views across the lake and toward the surrounding maunga (mountains).
Enter as an individual or as a part of relay team of up to six.
There is also a kids’ version on Friday, giving 4–15-year-olds the chance to soak up the spirit of the event. They will run either the full or a shortened Pillar to Pou course along the Great Lake Pathway and Taupō’s lakefront with different turn around points. Entrants aged 10 and under may be accompanied by one adult on the course. Accompanying adults are free of charge.
