The Paparoa Ultra on 20 March 2027 is a challenging 55km Ultra Marathon held on the pristine Paparoa Track, on NZ's West Coast.

This is a new community-driven endurance event offers a rare chance to run an iconic Great Walk in race format.

Covering the full length of the trail from Blackball to Punakaiki, the course takes runners from dense native forest to alpine tops, across swing bridges, and past dramatic limestone cliffs, all on one of the country’s most spectacular backcountry journeys.

The event is based in a remote location, is mostly self-supported, and is for experienced runners only. The competitor limit is 200.

The event includes a 1.5km Kids Fun Run for the next generation (limited to 50 entries).
