Follow event Cancelled Run/Walk Road/Path/Park Off Road/Trail Relay

Formally the Monaco Mid-Winter Marathon, the Nelson Marathon on 13 July 2025 also includes a 10km and Half Marathon distance.

The event planned for 13 July 2025 was cancelled.

This is 99% off-road along Nelson Tasman's "Great Taste Trail" & "Moturoa Trails". The Marathon (distance cancelled in 2025) takes in a predominantly waterfront course rounding the scenic Waimea Inlet, passing farms and orchards before entering Moturoa / Rabbit Island. Here a less trodden trail loops you around the island and through the forest onto the Tasman Bay Beachfront before retracing your steps back around the Waimea Inlet.

The Half Marathon & 10km are both on out-and-back routes along the Great Taste Trail. The turnaround for the Half is at the junction of Cotterell Road and the Great Taste Trail and the 10km turnaround is on the far side of Nelson Pine Industries.

The Waimea 21K is a 4 person team relay with legs ranging from 5.2km to 7.1km.
