The Mavora Explorer in Te Anau on 24 January 2026 is a trail run with 21km, 12km and 6km distances, a Run + MTB Duathlon, and standalone MTB events.

This event offers you a chance to explore a stunning, secluded corner of the Te Anau Basin, with a range of secrets and surprises opened up for all to share.

Good tracks through private land allow you to experience native bush, golden tussocks, hidden lakes and flowing rivers. You will enjoy mixing challenging undulations with a river crossing and fords as well as sections of easier terrain which allow you to look around and take in views of the mountain ranges that flank Te Anau and Manapouri.

All events follow out and back / loop courses which start and finish on Mavora Lakes Rd, about 4kms from State Highway 94.
