The Katoa Po Explorer Night Rogaine from 14 to 15 March 2026 is an annual teams event organised by the Taupo Orienteering Club.

This event has been designed for adventure racers of all ages wanting to practise their night navigation and teamwork. It comprises of a 3 Hour rogaine on Saturday night and a 90 minute rogaine on Sunday morning for teams of 2-5.

The course has been designed by experienced adventure racers, but will be set for a range of abilities, from beginners to expert.

The 2026 event location is Opepe farm, around 10km north of Taupo on State Highway 5 between Taupo and Napier. This area is rolling farmland incised with intricate gullies, and patches of grazed native bush.

Distances/Events

Saturday night:
Night Rogaine - 3 hours

Sunday morning:
Day Rogaine - 90 minutes
