Hātea Run's Night Series runs are held in winter at locations around Whangarei, with the first event, the Spooky Chase on 18 June 2025.

This is a handicap event run on the trails of Parihaka's eastern side. The slowest runners start first with the fastest chasing them down.

These runs are all in the dark so a good headlight and/or torch is required. No light. No Run.
