Coast to Coast
Friday, 13 February 2026 to Saturday, 14 February 2026
Kumara Beach, West Coast to New Brighton, Christchurch
The Coast to Coast from 13 to 14 February 2026 is an iconic multisport event based in the South Island of New Zealand.
Held every February, the course starts on the West Coast, at Kumara Beach, and traverses the width of the South Island, crossing the main divide and finishing on the East Coast. The finish line is at the Pier on New Brighton Beach in Christchurch.
The race is one of the world's longest running multi-sports events and is older even than the Hawaiian Ironman. From similar roots, Robin Judkins founded the event in 1983 when just 25 hardy souls took on the 243km challenge over two days.
General public entries is by ballot.
