The Puzzling World Junior Challenge events on 19 February 2026 are held as part of the Challenge Wānaka Festival.

This event welcomes hundreds of enthusiastic young athletes from Years 1 to 6, offering a fun, safe, and supportive environment for kids to take on the challenge and experience the thrill of triathlon.

The course includes a swim along the edge of Lake Wānaka, a bike ride beside the lakefront, and a run that finishes in true triathlon style — down the red carpet and through the official Challenge Wānaka finish line.

Years 1 - 3: Duathlon: 250m run + 1K MTB + 250m run
Year 4: 50m swim + 3K MTB + 1K run
Year 5: 100m swim + 3K MTB + 1K run
Year 6: 150m swim + 3K MTB + 2K run
