The Challenge Wānaka Adaptive triathlon is held as part of the Challenge Wānaka Festival together with major sponsor Mitre 10 Wānaka on 20 February 2026.

This event is open to anyone over ten years old with an impairment whether it be physical or intellectual - there are 3 types of category.

A: Swim 25m in waist deep water, along the lake front + 1K bike + 100m run to finish
B: Swim 50m + 1K bike + run 1 lap
