The Barefoot XTRAIL Spring Series Rangituhi Rumbler on 28 September 2025 is a leg-burning journey through one of Porirua’s most scenic spots.

The event includes a short, medium and long distance course, starting from Spicers Botanical Park and winding their way up through the trails of Spicers Forest before breaking into the rugged beauty of the Colonial Knob Reserve.

The short course offers a forgiving climb with playful zig zags and a fun descent. The medium and long courses start the same way to Colonial Knob Reserve. From here the ascent gets real as the routes head up to the summit of Rangituhi, rewarded with stunning views over Porirua Harbour. The descent from the summit is on farm tracks which head into Porirua Scenic Reserve and turn into a few more twisty turns. The long course includes more sting in the tail back onto Rangituhi and then a super fun descent all the way back to the park.
