Little River to Halswell Quarry, Christchurch
The Aotearoa Ultra Marathon on 10 January 2026 is held on Banks Peninsula and Christchurch, encompassing some of the most picturesque settings of Canterbury.
Starting at Little River Domain, the 101km Ultra runners head up Western Valley Road and over to Port Levy, then on to Pigeon Bay, where they run up to the Summit Road via Middle Road and then back to Pigeon Bay, to Port Levy, up and over Mt Herbert across the Summit Road, Kennedy’s Bush, The Crocodile to Halswell Quarry. The route takes in 4,055m of elevation. Enter solo or in a team of 2 with a change over at Pigeon Bay.
The 53km Ultra (Pigeon Bay to Halswell Quarry) can also be run solo or in a team of 2.
There is also a 15km from Gebbies Pass to Halswell Quarry (solo runners only).
