The Emerson's Dunedin Marathon is back on 13 September 2026 with a full Marathon, Half Marathon, 10km and 5km distance.

Established in 1979, this is one of the most scenic Marathons in New Zealand. The Marathon course starts at Portobello Recreation Reserve and runs around the beautiful Otago Harbour. The course is AIMS Certified. This means you can use your result in the full marathon as a means to qualify for international marathons like the Boston Marathon.

All the other courses start inside the Caledonian Ground. The finish line for all distances is in front of Emerson’s Brewery.

The event is organised by Caversham Harrier and Athletic Club.
