The Wild West Backyard Ultra starting on 26 March 2027 is based in Hokitika on NZ's wild West Coast.

A Backyard Ultra is a form of ultramarathon race where competitors must consecutively run a 6.71km / 4.17 mile course in less than one hour, every hour. When each lap is completed, the remaining time within the hour is used to recover and replenish for the next hour's race. The race finishes when one person completes one more lap than anyone else.

This is a friendly, grassroots event on a stunningly scenic course.

Capped at 150 runners.
