The Drumduan on 21 May 2023 is a new trail running event at Cable Bay that will have you running over private land with jaw dropping views of Nelson in the background.

The 21km Mountain Run is a tough course recommended for experienced trail and mountain runners only. There is over 1200 meters of elevation, stream crossings, long climbs, technical ups and downs and ever changing terrain. It is self-supported, with one aid station at about 9.5kms. The cut off is 6 hours and there is a mandatory equipment list.

The 7km Trail Run course contains a taster of the Mountain Run with stream crossings, technical tracks, over 400 meters of elevation and great views. Walkers are welcome in the 7km event. It is self-supported but well marked, with marshals, one aid station and a tail-end runner.

This event is organised by Athletics Nelson and Nelson Trail runs.

The event start and registration is at 445 Cable Bay road, a short way past the turn off to Māori Pā Road.
