Te Āpiti Traverse

The inaugural Te Āpiti Traverse on 14 March 2026 community-focused challenge offering a series of mixed terrain runs in Woodville.
Distances include the full 42km traverse, plus 20km, 14km and 10km options.
The 42km course takes runners across the Saddle Road, the new highway, back over the Manawatu Gorge track and then back up the gorge with lesser events doing parts of these courses.
The 20km Ruahine course runs across rolling hills and valleys and is a solid test of stamina and spirit. The Tararua 14km is well-suited for intermediate runners looking for a scenic challenge. The 10km is all downhill or flat, ideal for beginners or families.
Te Āpiti Traverse is organised by the Woodville Lions Club. All proceeds from this event will be returned to the local community.
