Back after 14 years, the Taranaki Turkey Traverse on 18 February 2023 is a long course orienteering event in New Plymouth.

There is a choice of 3 long courses - 8km, 13km or 18km. It is a mass start, but embedded into the courses are a series of short sprints, which will test your legs and resolve. These will form an additional competition: the Turkey King & Queen of Sprints.

The event suits adventure racers with reasonable navigation skills and can be competed as an individual, or as a relay team.

The event is hosted by Orienteering Taranaki and is open to members and non-members.

The start lines are TBC. The finish is at "Petite Plage", East End Reserve.
