The Rawene Volunteer Fire Brigade Walkathon on Sunday, 1 March 2020 is a 13km hīkoi from Whirinaki to Rawene.

The Rawene Volunteer Fire Brigade has 4 crew participating in the 2020 Fireman's Sky Tower Stairway challenge raising funds for Leukaemia and Blood Cancer NZ and this event is supporting them to help them get there. The registration fee is $20 and the walk starts at 7:30am.

It is held in conjunction with Rawene Children's Day, so at the finish line there will be entertainment, activities and a light lunch for participants.

The walk goes from Whirinaki Memorial (on the corner of SH12 and Whirinaki School Road) to Rawene Primary School.
