Due to the recent tragic events on Mauao in 2026, the King and Queen of Mt Maunganui is postponed until further notice.

In it's place will be a one off Community Fun Run/Walk on 19 April 2026 - the Modern Office King & Queen of the Beach.

This beach run will be held on the same day as originally planned event and will be a relaxed, inclusive out-and-back run/walk, starting from the usual base opposite Mt Drury and heading along the shoreline towards Omanu.

Choose from 2km and 5km options, this event is open to all ages and abilities - runners, walkers, families, friends. There will be no podiums or placing prizes - just movement, fresh air, community and a few spot prizes.

The event is organised by Athletics Tauranga
