The Marokopa Munter Adventure Race from 21 to 22 November 2026 is an epic team-based adventure involving paddling, trekking and MTB.
The 2026 course, returns to the Marokopa/Waitomo area - an incredible adventure playground full of potential - hills, rivers, lakes, farms, bush and more hills.
About a 2 hours drive from New Plymouth and 90 minutes from Hamilton, it's easy accessible from all over the North Island. The race rego and briefing on Friday night will be held in Marokopa.
There is a 12 and 24 Hour option. For teams who don't have access to kayaks or packrafts, there is also have a division for 'Non-Paddling'- an extra MTB / Trek stage will replace the water section.
The event format involves several rogaine sections where Check Points can be collected in any order and are all optional. This way, teams can choose their level of challenge and use strategy to maximise their strengths. All teams have either 12 or 24 hours to collect as many CPs as they can and be back at the finish line within the allotted time.
