Hātea Run's Night Series takes place in winter in locations around Whangarei, with the third event on 1 July 2026.

This event is run on the eastern side trails of the Parihaka reserve. Beginning from the Abbey Caves car park, runners will take the link trail downhill to the forestry ridge road where they will turn left and head up the service road towards the Parihaka summit. Half way to the top runners will take a left hand turn along the forestry road to the turnaround point a retrace their tracks back to the start.

These runs are all in the dark so a good headlight and/or torch is required. No light. No Run.
