The Gisborne Herald Quarter Marathon and Fun Run starts and finishes at Marina Park.

There is no 2024 event. The next event date in September 2025 is to be confirmed.

The race starts in Marina Park, with both courses following a scenic trip around the town centre before crossing the finish line back in Marina Park.

Participants of all ages and abilities compete in the event, from elite athletes and running clubs to mums pushing buggies and 80 year olds!

The Quarter Marathon is a partnership event run by Sport Gisborne, The Hits and the Gisborne Herald. Proceeds from the event go to a local charity.
