The Dovedale Hill Race on 5 September 2026 is a classic local 11km run/walk from Wakefield to the top of Dovedale Hill along the Pigeon Valley Road.

This is a one way course with competitors either jogging back down using forestry roads and Pigeon Valley Rd, or carpooling and leaving a car at the top before the event. There is also a 5km event for juniors from half way, starting at 2:45pm.

There is no charge for this event. Registration in the "Whitby" car park in the middle of Wakefield from 1:30pm. Walkers start 2:00pm, Early Runners 2:15pm & Runners 2:30pm.
