The Mitre10 Mega Wānaka Secondary School Challenge on 19 February 2027 is held as part of the Challenge Wānaka Festival.

Secondary students from Year 9 onwards are invited to experience the excitement of triathlon in a fun, safe, and supportive environment.

The course takes you along the stunning lakefront with a swim close to shore in Lake Wānaka, a scenic bike ride beside the water, and a run that finishes with a red carpet moment through the official Challenge Wānaka finish line.

Entrants can race individually or as part of a relay team.

Triathlon (Swim + Bike + Run):
U14 & U16: 300m + 10K + 3.5K
U19: 400m + 20K + 3.5K
