The Born to Run Adventure Racing 24 Hour Challenge in Whangarei from 17 to 18 May 2025 is a unique event where competitors run/walk alongside a miniature horse!

Over a 24-hour period, entrants complete as many (or as few) laps of a 4km-ish course as they like. Go non-stop or take long breaks between laps - it's completely up to you. The only constant is your pony companion. All ponies undergo regular vet checks to make sure they’re just as happy and healthy as you are.

Camping is available on-site at Barge Park. Bring your own miniature horse or hire one from the race organisers. No prior horse experience is necessary.
