This week's newsletter has some information about Under Armour, interesting articles, discounts for premium members, and a date change for the New Zealand SwimRun National Championships.
Under Armour makes you better. Their vision is to inspire you with performance solutions you never knew you needed and can’t imagine living without. Introducing the Under Armour Qualifier Run Kit. The Ultra-functional running gear that prepares you for anything.
Big's Backyard Ultra
Big's Backyard Ultra has been running for 59 hours at the time of writing and there are still two people left: Maggie Guterl from the USA, and New Zealander Will Hayward, who lives in Hong Kong. New Zealander Katie Wright finished after 50 laps, for an outstanding performance of 208 miles! It's bound to finish in the next few hours, and you can follow the results page here.
Your body on no sleep
And topical to the above race, where you have to run a 6.67 mile lap per hour and then get enough rest before setting off again, is this article at Outline Online about what happens to your body when you get no sleep. I know Katie had some short naps during her race, but she'll need some good catch up now!

It will come as no surprise that average running speed is slower on a hilly route than on a flat run, even when the start and finish are at the same elevation, or when there’s an equal amount of climbing and descending. Training Peaks takes a look at how you can get better at running uphill.
4 myths about aging athletes
And another one from Training Peaks, this time about four myths about aging athletes, with some evidence to rebut each point.
