Interesting articles

Riverhead ReLaps & Book competition winner
I didn't manage to run as far as I wanted at the Riverhead Backyard ReLaps Ultra and Relay, but it was still a lot of fun and I achieved 7 laps in total, which counted as 6 officially because I didn't finish the 7th within the hour. Denise Limby was the closest to 6 or 7 with a guess of 9, and has chosen Peter Snell and the Kiwis Who Flew as her prize. I'll have another book competition fairly soon to continue clearing out the Running Calendar bookshelf of pre-loved books!

Plank variations for a stronger core
A strong core is key to an injury-free, endurance athlete's body; the "core" is all the muscles of the lower trunk and pelvis, not just your abdominal area and back but also your hips, glutes, adductors and abductors too. Triathlete Allie Burdick shares 10 plank variations with photos in this article at Training Peaks.

All about trail races
If you're interesting in participating in some trail races, then check out this article at Trail Running Mag, which covers a lot of useful information, especially if you've mostly run at road races.
