Curly Jacobs begins his record breaking attempt
Ultra-distance runner Curly Jacobs set off from Bluff at 4am yesterday morning to attempt to set the record for the fastest run of the length of New Zealand, while aiming to raise awareness of mental health issues and funds for organisations working with children in poverty. How not to test GPS/fitness trackers
Some fitness trackers are inaccurately measuring running distance, according to research from the UK consumer watchdog Which? The only catch is they tested them on treadmills instead of outside on an actual road when you can use GPS. Find out more in this article at the BBC. I personally wish they'd tested them all outside using GPS because it would be really interesting to compare accuracy of brands and models.

This has got to be what nightmares are made of for runners in a race - you have a bout of diarrhoea but can't hold it... Wu Xiangdong was half way through his race when he just had to "go", but still managed to finish and win in a fast time. Find out more here at Lad Bible.
