The race is on the Big Dog's golden tickets
The creator of the infamous Barkley Marathons Lazarus Lake has also organised the Big Dog’s Backyard Ultra since 2012, on his own property in Tennessee. This is a last person standing type race where runners have to complete a 4.16667 mile loop each hour, starting on the hour. New Zealand's newest Great Walk: the Paparoa Great Walk
The $10 million Paparoa Great Walk, traversing 65 kilometres between Punakaiki and Blackball, is due to open in time for next summer. It is the first track to be added to the Great Walk network since it was set up in 1993, and the first to be built with both walkers (runners!) and mountain bikers in mind. - Eastern Traverse MTB in Rotorua has been put on hold until February 2020 due to a key part of private land being "unavailable" for this year

Date changes/corrections
- Race 4 in the Wellington Splash and Dash was postponed from January 23rd (Wednesday last week) to 30th (tomorrow) due to severe gales forecast
