Run/Walk Beach Medium Long Superlong Ultra Half Marathon Marathon Relay

The current edition of this event is on 10 March 2018.

The Te Houtaewa Challenge on Saturday, 15 March 2014 is an annual ultra marathon, marathon, half Marathon and Walk for Life at New Zealand's 90 Mile Beach.

All running events are north to south running on the sand on 90 Mile Beach and ending at Foreshore Rd, Ahipara. The 6km Walk for Life starts and ends of Foreshore Rd and proceeds north for 3km and then turns around and returns.

Local support is excellent with 4x4 club and bus transport to and from start/finish. Around 120+ runners for the marathons and 200+ on the run/walk 6km. 50% of marathon runners are international.

All events finish at Foreshore Rd, Ahipara. The walk also starts from here, and the bus to the various event start locations collects people from here.
