Dunedin South Lions Community Trust are proud to support Presbyterian Support Otago in the Taieri Gorge Annual Rail Walk on Sunday, 5 May 2019

Travel on Dunedin Railways' iconic Taieri Gorge Train, followed by a two hour walk through the picturesque Taieri Gorge and a tasty sausage sizzle at Hindon.

This year all proceeds are going towards upskilling Presbyterian Support Otago Youth Workers, with funds raised allowing further education for three of their youth workers, to obtain their Certificate in Youth Development.

Children under 10 years old are not permitted on the walk. Children 10 and older must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Departing at 8.30am from the Dunedin Railway Station, the train will wind its way through the Taieri Gorge to Flat Stream. Passengers disembark at this point and walk approximately 2 to 2 ½ hours to Deep Stream. The gentle gradient walk includes historic bridges and tunnels, finishing with a sausage sizzle before boarding the train in Hindon, returning to Dunedin.
