The Hoka One One Tai Tapu Run Festival on Sunday, 8 April 2018 is Canterbury's biggest little run festival, with 15km and 10km races, and a kids 1km dash.
The Tai Tapu Run Festival serves as a fundrasing event for the running community and the New Brighton Olympic Running club. Starting out as a 16km race in 1979, the event has become an annual fixture in a club runners calender.
The race has seen many directors and locations, with the most recent being at Tai Tapu school. Proceeds from the race go into such things as childrens athletics, providing subsides for top athletes to travel to national races and the up keep the Rawiti Domain facilites.
