The Whakatane Rotary River Walk and Run is a 5.5km walk and run to raise money for ShelterBox. There is a free dinghy ride from the northern side of Whakatane River back to the Yacht Club, or runners can choose not to take the boat and complete the return leg to make it an 11km run.
Register on the day from 9.30am with a start time of 10.00am. Entry is by donation.
ShelterBox responds immediately to all kinds of disaster. Aid is distributed in iconic green boxes, each containing a sturdy tent and other survival equipment essential to families in times of disaster.
As a Rotary Club project ShelterBox has helped more than 1 million people, sent over 130,000 ShelterBoxes to more than 200 disasters in over 85 countries around the world.
