The Rotorua Running Festival on Sunday, 23 November 2014 has a half marathon, 10km run/walk, 4km community walk and kids 2km.
This is running as it should be, with Rotorua's main thoroughfare, Fenton St, closed to traffic for the mass start.
The marquee event, the City of Rotorua Half Marathon, has an unbelievable course which takes in Rotorua's unique natural environment via Whakarewarewa Forest and the Sulphur Bay tracks, but also showcases the city's culture as runners pass in front of world renowned Te Puia, the Blue Baths and the Rotorua Museum. All events culminate with a final section along the shore of beautiful Lake Rotorua to a grandstand finish on Lakefront Drive.
