The current edition of this event is on 9 to 10 March 2018.
The iconic Moonride on Saturday, 22 April 2017 is held at the Waipa Mountain Bike Area off State Highway 5 and uses the stunning Whakarewarewa Forest trails.
Due to lack of numbers the 25km Night Race & 24 Hour Race will no longer be going ahead; the 6 & 12 Hour Races are still going ahead, but have been postponed from March 11th to April 23rd due to the weather.
The Nzo Moonride course entails a mix of grade 2 to 3 mountain bike trails and forestry roads to allow for easy passing. The Moonride course will utilise trails such as Tahi, Creek, Lion, Turkish Delight and Rockdrop. The Trek 24 hour, Jaybird 12 hour and Pig & Whistle 6 hour events can be ridden solo or in teams of 2 to 5.
The new 25km night race is for individuals only, and follows a one lap course incorporating the start and finish of the Moonride course.
